Plainly stated

What CFL is — and what it is not

The second half matters as much as the first, and it is why this page exists.

What CFL is

An IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organisation.

Education, competition and community development programmes.

Donations support general charitable educational programmes — not equity investments.

What CFL is not

Not a broker-dealer, and it does not offer or sell securities.

Not a funding portal or an investment adviser, and it gives no investment recommendations.

All competitions, rankings and awards are educational — never financial instruments.

How we operate

Our mission, in seven principles

Not words on a wall. Each one is followed by what it actually looks like in practice.

  1. 1

    Transparent Operations

We publish real program numbers as they are — including a real zero — never a placeholder made to look better.

  2. 2

    Founder Dignity

Every lab we host, from Game Day pitch to Forge Project packet, keeps one promise true: you keep the company.

  3. 3

    Educational Integrity

Every ranking, score, and leaderboard on this site carries the same line — educational only, never investment advice.

  4. 4

    Community Focus

Our recruiting contacts Florida campuses, veteran service organizations and career and technical education centers directly, never through a purchased contact list.

  5. 5

    Conflict of Interest Disclosure

When a science or safety question is bigger than one student team, it goes to CFL leadership and outside experts, not a single captain.

  6. 6

    Data Privacy

Any calendar or inbox a member connects to their own account stays private to them and CFL keeps it only briefly.

  7. 7

    Ongoing Accountability

Every foundation letter and grant ask sits on hold until a named Super Admin reviews and approves it — nothing sends itself.

The wider picture

Where CFL fits, and where it stops

CFL is an educational nonprofit. It takes no equity in any team’s company, and it does not conduct, host or process securities offerings at any point. Technology CFL brings to a lab, such as the patent-pending helmet work, stays with CFL, and students do not take that patent.
